“Soul of Japan” Shamisen Concert by Matsumoto Baisho

The Japan Creative Centre and the Japanese Cultural Society are pleased to present a one-night only performance by Mr. Baisho Matsumoto, a Japanese Shamisen master and his troupe. The shamisen is a traditional Japanese musical instrument which has been around since the late 16th century. Since then, its distinctive sound has gained huge popularity amongst the Japanese and foreigners alike.

To DHSJCC members: Anyone of you interested to go? Please tell me before 17 Feb. =D We can organize a club outing if response is strong enough. It’ll be a good exposure to the traditional culture of Japan — something you don’t see everyday in Singapore.
